In 2023, Lukáš Formánek (LKSB) carried out a major engine overhaul. (See the YouTube video.) The aircraft is airworthy; the odometer reading may vary. With an experienced pilot at the controls, the Sky Jeep can take off and land almost anywhere thanks to its slotted design, robust landing gear and aeroelastic propeller! Real-world minimum speed with the engine running is 35 km/h, with a cruising speed of 110–130 km/h. Maximum speed: 177 km/h. Special carbon/bush sandwich landing gear from Vespa4. American 6" Matco rims with 26" Alaskan Bush Tyres at the rear and 22x8.50x6" Aeroclassic tyres at the front. Special front suspension strut (Vespa4) for use with 22" tyres. Matco hydraulic disc brakes – two calipers per wheel! Parking brake. Engine oil thermostat. Aerodynamic covers for the wing struts. Cowling with Camlocks. Inspection hatch for checking oil levels in the upper fibreglass cowling, inspection hatch on the right-hand side of the fuselage. Large inspection hatch on the underside of the fuselage. USB/DIN 12V sockets on the dashboard and in the luggage compartment. Icom A210 8.33 radio/intercom. Analogue flight instruments, compass, Kanardia artificial horizon, engine hour meter. Backlit engine gauges. Mechanical fuel pressure gauge. Auxiliary electric fuel pump. Electric fuel level indicators for L and P tanks. Large, soundproofed luggage compartment at the rear of the cabin. Fabric door and windscreen covers. Front landing gear handling handles. Exhaust-driven heating. Adjustable L+P cockpit ventilation vents. Vortex turbulators on the reverse elevator. Safety/storage wheel in the rear of the fuselage. Camera mount on the rudder. ACS-USA switch box. Leather seats. Four-point seat belts. Locks on both doors. Control quadrant on the centre console – throttle control, three-position lift flaps with locking mechanism (flaperons), longitudinal trim and throttle response adjustment. NR-Prop 190 cm ‘saber’ propeller (5 hours), E-Props 190 cm (150 hours), 173 cm DUC Swirl aeroelastic propeller (320 hours). (Propeller selection by agreement!). Two years ago at Vespa4 s.r.o.: replacement of the plexiglass on both doors, fitting of new wing slots, replacement of the front landing gear bungee cord, and extension of the brakes to include the second seat. Controls – dual-stick, elevator controlled by a pushrod! No ‘Y’ stick and no elevator cables, as is often the case with American kits! Never crashed! However, there are bound to be a few scuffs from normal use and life in a shared hangar! I’ve owned the aircraft since new. There are videos on YouTube of it in flight and of the engine overhaul. I’m not in a rush to sell! Dealers, speculators and test pilots, please do not write or call! On display at LKSB. VAT – NO! Emergency rescue system – NO! Transponder – NO! (It is, however, registered with the Civil Aviation Authority and the Telecommunications Office. I’m taking the Trig for my other aeroplane). Photos and a brief description of the CH-701 can be found in Pilot 8-26. A comprehensive article dedicated specifically to this aircraft can be found in Flying Revue 6-22. Thanks for your attention! Cyril
